Summary
My clients are a very well-established UK leading manufacturing company based in Tameside. With offices in UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. An exciting opportunity has become available for a cut length Supervisor to support the general manager and Finished Goods management team with day-to-day tasks to ensure the department runs smoothly. This role will involve working alongside departmental heads to maintain continuous improvement throughout each area and ensuring the timely completion of daily orders.
Working Hours: 9.30am-18.30pm Monday/Tuesday, 9.30am-18.00pm Wednesday/Thursday,
9.30am-16.30pm Friday
Salary DOE
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
• Supervise and motivate Cut Length areas to ensure daily orders are completed on time and
quality standards are met
• Co-ordinate movements of staff to ensure appropriate levels of efficiency within the
department and maintaining records.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety procedures, reporting hazards or incidents and
attending regular Health and Safety meetings as the rep for the Cut Lengths areas.
• Oversee the training of new starters, and monitoring progress and skills of all staff
• Accepting deliveries and ensuring these are put away
• Liaise with other departments
• Co-ordinating regular cycle counting and use of ERP system to manage stock.
• Developing a full understanding of the processes within all areas of Finished Goods and
providing additional back up cover where required.
• Organise/support with maintenance requirements on the machinery in the area.
• Reporting on quality control of fabrics
• Encourage good levels of housekeeping
Essential Criteria:
• Experience of supervising within a production/warehouse environment
• Knowledge and experience of performance KPIs
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Ability to work well as part of a team, and independently where necessary
• Good leadership and communication skills
• Willing to learn and develop new skills
Desirable Criteria:
• Experience of electric pedestrian trucks
• Basic mechanical skills
