The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an experienced Food Safety Officer/Environmental Health Officer to carry out statutory food safety functions at local businesses in accordance with current law, procedures, policy and guidance; within agreed timescales and occasionally outside of normal working hours. Inspection categories will range from Cat A to D premises. The role may also involve health and safety visits, and food complaint investigation, depending on experience.
In order to be considered, you must have experience in the delivery of a range of Food Safety Official Controls detailed in the Food Law Code of Practice within the last 3-years, within a local government setting in the UK.
This is a full time post, working 37 hours per week and initially for up to 5 months. The team are looking for a start around mid June to mid July. If you are only available part time please do get in touch as the team will consider this.
As the work involves mainly visits within Nuneaton and Bedworth area it will be a requirement than you are on district for most days.
What the client is looking for:
Previous experience in the delivery of a range of Food Safety Official Controls detailed in the Food Law Code of Practice within the last 3-years, within a local government setting in the UK.
Degree in Environmental Health or related field.
Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent.
Qualified to carry out official food controls under the Food Law Code of Practice.
Strong knowledge of current food safety legislation and public health practices.
Excellent communication, investigation, and report-writing skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle - desirable
Familiarity with Civica APP or other inspection software systems - desirable
Additional qualifications in food safety auditing or HACCP - desirable
