We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Art & Design to join The Basildon Upper Academy, on a 1-year fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
Salary £33,959— £51,984(M1 - AL3 Academy Qualified Teachers Scale)
Position Available: September 2025
Contract: 1-year fixed term contract
Our academy operates across two sites.The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.
The Creative Arts Faculty boasts a team of highly trained, creative, and motivated practitioners who work collaboratively to share and develop each other's specialisms through department CPD.
We offer Fine Art, Art Craft and Design, and Photography for KS4 students, as well as Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Communication, Textiles, and Creative Media for Sixth Form students.
TheUpper Academy students have access to a photography studio with multiple backdrops and professional lighting, a darkroom, and DSLR cameras. They also benefit fromindustry-standard editing software and a dedicated KS5 studio, which includesindividual work stations and display boards for each learner. Additional resources includelarge-scale printing, a 3D printer, laser and spray booths. Textile facilities includesewing machines and digital graphics tablets.Both the Upper and Lower Academy Creative Arts Teams are supported by a team of technicians.
