Monks Orchard Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to lead The Hive– our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Hive is at the heart of our school community and offers an exciting, spacious, and enriching setting for up to 25 pupils from Reception to Year 6.
Most children access mainstream provision for part of the day with tailored support. The Hive is situated next to our Forest School and provides the ideal environment for holistic learning and development.
The Role
As Lead Teacher of The Hive, you will:
• Lead a dedicated team of teaching assistants.
• Plan and deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with the mainstream school team to ensure successful integration where appropriate.
• Work closely with families, external professionals, and the Croydon SEN panel to secure the best outcomes for each child.
• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with experience in special education or inclusive mainstream practice.
• A deep understanding of autism and a commitment to inclusive education.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity, resilience, and a child-centred approach.
• A reflective mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development.
