About the Role
As the EHASH Education Safeguarding Co-ordinator, you will:
- Provide advice and support to a range of professionals including schools, early years settings, post-16 providers and other professionals referring into EHASH.
- Support timely, high-quality safeguarding referrals that meet statutory thresholds, reinforcing responsibilities outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.
- Represent the education sector within EHASH multi-agency risk assessments and strategy discussions, bringing crucial insight to inform decision-making around engagement and attendance.
- Liaise with partners including Duty & Assessment, Education Welfare, Education Safeguarding Officer in Education, Schools and others to support safeguarding practices across education settings.
- Monitor referral trends, support continuous improvement, and act as the attendance champion within EHASH, promoting a borough-wide culture of collective responsibility for school attendance and engagement in education.
This unique role will be based in EHASH but will work closely with the Education Welfare and will offer a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand experience in essential functions that support children and families.
