Summary

Head of Contracts Management needed in Hereford Paying £61 per hr ref OR8063

Full time hours on a temporary basis

  • We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Contract Management to lead and oversee the delivery, performance, and governance of high-value contracts across the organisation. This key leadership role ensures value for money, compliance, and strong supplier relationships.

You will support the Economy & Environment Directorate in consolidating its contract management approach, engaging stakeholders to bring additional major contracts into scope. The Contracts Management team reports to the Director of Commercial Services, who also oversees Property Services, Facilities Management, Capital Programmes, and broader commercial activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the contract management function across multiple service areas
  • Develop and implement contract strategies and performance frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve escalated issues
  • Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in contract or commercial management at a senior level
  • Strong knowledge of procurement law, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CIPS, commercial law, project management) desirable
