An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical assistant to join our school office team at Gracemount Primary School. The successful candidate will be nurturing in their approach and is capable of building positive relationships with our pupils, parents and staff. At Gracemount we believe that better relationships enable better learning, and this will produce better behaviour in school. We are looking for a positive, energetic and enthusiastic person to join our fantastic team.

We are looking for a Clerical Assistant who will work to ensure our school office is an organised, supportive and welcoming place. You will work alongside the school Administrator, School Support officer, Business Manager and Head Teacher. You will be friendly, able to prioritise tasks and you will thrive on bring part of a big and busy school.

The successful candidate will have previous reception or administrative experience within a busy office environment and be willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Competency in use of ICT, knowledge and experience of using databases and word documents, excellent communication skills and experience of working to tight deadlines is essential.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
