Job description
32.5 hours per week

Term Time

Fixed term contract up to 30 November 2026 working towards Level 3 qualification.

An enthusiastic, motivated and committed person is required by the Governing Body of Ysgol Bryn Castell to support pupils with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties including Autism alongside other Additional Learning Needs (ALN) as an Apprentice Special Support Officer within a special school environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop join our nurturing and inclusive special school community and build a rewarding career in education while gaining a nationally recognised qualification, in a caring and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will gain hand-on experience, training and skills while working towards a Level 3 qualification in Apprenticeship in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning Schools (SSTLS), whilst working with pupils with ALN aged 7 to 19 years at Ysgol Bryn Castell. Applicants will not be considered for those who have already achieved a qualification, at an equivalent or higher level in same subject area, including degree level in same subject area. Also, applicants currently in receipt of WG funding for study purposes will not be able to be considered.
