Summary
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a chatty, happy and lively 9-year-old boy living in the Liskeard area.
He has ADHD and autism, and he would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support.
He would like someone to support him with his communication and social skills out in the community. He loves being outdoors, whatever the weather. His interests include walks in the woods; visits to the beach and parks; and rescuing injured creatures. He also enjoys Lego, Pokémon cards and cooking.
Your support will enable him to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, particularly during weekends and school holidays.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.
The role is part-time, with 3 hours per week available, although this is very flexible. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
The hourly rate is £12.60, plus mileage allowance.
Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with business use insurance, is preferable.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
