Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Respiratory ward at DCHFT to apply for the Band 7 Senior Sister/ Ward leader position.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join and lead our established team, This person should have significant experience at band 6 and looking for the next step in their career progression as a Ward Leader in a supportive environment.
Moreton Ward is a 26 bedded acute medical ward that primarily cares for patients with respiratory conditions. We take patients directly from the Emergency Department as well as patients who step down from the Intensive Care Department. The ward cares for patients requiring non. invasive ventilation , hi flo oxygen and chest drains .
You will create, lead and maintain a nursing culture which is open to change, new ideas, concepts and innovation . You will be responsible for improving the patient experience and safeguarding high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish and be measured.
• To will lead the team to maintain and contribute to the efficient running and the delivery of high quality care on Moreton ward.
• To support each patient in the initial stages of their care pathway by providing clinical leadership, professional advice and clinical expertise.
• To work proactively with the Clinical Site Team, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and all other areas to ensure patient flow is facilitated and optimised.
• To ensure the assessment areas are protected and fully functional as such, at all times unless directed otherwise by exec team in times of escalation. plan/ coordinate the unit incorporating suitable pathways.
• To ensure patient safety remains paramount at all times and undertake/supervise all relevant assessment and related documentation, i.e.: DOLs, Cause for concern
• To lead a team of staff with regards to appraisals, sickness management, training and development plans.
• You will be supported by a welcoming and experienced multidisciplinary team.
