Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner (GP) Maternity Leave Cover Location: The Strand Medical Centre Contract Type: Fixed-term contract (Maternity Leave Cover) Sessions: 6 clinical sessions per week o Monday AM and PM o Wednesday AM and PM o the third day will mostly cover a Tuesday but may include half days on the other days. Our practice: Stable list size 7500 CQC rating good, excellent QOF outcomes Very low home visit burden Excellent secretarial /admin and IT support Clinical team of 4 GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioner, practice pharmacist, practice nurse and health care assistant Supported by the Crosby and Bootle Clinical Network and active member of the South Sefton GP Federation Training practice involved in educational and clinical supervision of GP Registrars, nursing clinicians, paramedics, clinical pharmacists Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated salaried GP to provide maternity leave cover. The successful candidate will join our friendly and supportive team to deliver high-quality primary care services, ensuring continuity of care for our patients. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive general practice consultations for a diverse patient population. Manage acute and chronic conditions, including prescribing medications and referrals as appropriate. Conduct health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education. Participate in practice meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS and practice protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare providers. Person Specification Full GMC registration with a license to practice. MRCGP or equivalent qualification preferred. Experience working in a UK general practice setting. Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
