We work closely with families and the local community to give every child the best start in life.
We are now seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and nurturing Childminding Assistant to join our small, passionate team and help us deliver high-quality care and early years education.
Key Responsibilities
Support school and nursery drop-offs and collections as required.
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities including arts, storytelling, outdoor play, and sensory exploration.
Engage in children’s play, supporting their learning and development through meaningful interaction.
Observe children and contribute to developmental records and daily documentation.
Assist with local outings and community walks.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment indoors and outdoors.
Follow all policies, procedures, and routines of the setting, including safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
Help prepare resources and set up activities for the following day.
Tidy and organise resources, ensuring equipment is clean and safe to use.
Model positive behaviour and support the emotional wellbeing of the children.
Stay informed and up to date by engaging in ongoing professional development.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills and Attributes
A warm, caring nature and a genuine passion for working with children.
Good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding practices (or currently studying).
Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
Patience, creativity, and a proactive approach to play and learning.
Willingness to work flexibly and contribute to the team’s success.
A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and the setting’s values.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare (or currently studying towards it).
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade A*-C).
Previous experience in a childcare setting is desirable.
A current DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to attend a 12-hour course upon employment).
