Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support a passionate and creative woman with disabilities in her home. The ideal candidate will be kind, gentle, and assertive, with a strong understanding of the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. The role requires flexibility to work varying hours throughout the week, PCA will be required flexibly during Mornings, afternoons, Evenings or Nights.

Key Responsibilities:
• Personal Care: Assist with showering, baths, oral hygiene, and other aspects of personal care.
• Mobility Assistance: Support the client in getting out of bed and as of when required.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare food and drinks according to the client’s needs.
• Medication Management: Help with the preparation and scheduling of medication.
• Household Maintenance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes, Laundry and general cleanliness.
• Access into the community: Accompany the client on shopping trips, leisure outings, social events, and appointments as needed.
Requirements:
• Kind, Compassionate & Assertive: Must be a kind and compassionate individual who can respect the client’s privacy, dignity, and individuality.
• Communication Skills: Must communicate effectively with the client, her family, and healthcare professionals.
• Empathy & Autonomy: The carer should be empathetic and able to express their thoughts and feelings to maintain clarity in communication.
• Experience/Interest: A strong interest in supporting the rehabilitation of clients and enabling their independence. Experience working with individuals who are Neurodiverse and Seizure prone is necessary.
• DBS Check: Willingness to undergo a DBS check (free of cost).
• Eligibility to Work in the UK: Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Location: Must be located near or within a reasonable distance.
Additional Information:
• This is a part-time position with flexible, ad-hoc hours.
• The role requires a trauma-informed approach and the ability to work with fluctuating needs.
