We have an exciting opportunity in our Learning Disabilities Day Service at Persona.

About you
You are someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude; you can develop positive relationships with people and you are passionate about supporting people to reach their potential.
You want to make a positive difference to people’s lives and take pride in delivering high quality support. You believe that people have a right to control and define their own lives regardless of disability and see your role as enabling them to do this by supporting them to do a variety of activities and take up opportunities both in our centres and in their local community.
About the role
You will be working alongside a team of staff within our day services based in Bury, with usual hours of work between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
You will be responsible for supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to get involved in activities they choose, either in groups or individually. You will be supporting people to use public transport and with activities like swimming, voluntary work, dance sessions and sports.
This is a physical job where you will need to move and position people (also called moving and handling) and help people who use wheelchairs to manoeuvre indoors and out in their community. You may also need to support people with personal care, like going to the bathroom or taking medication.
