Summary
Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Burton-On-Trent, DE13
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum
Hours of Work: 9am–5pm, with flexibility required including early mornings, late evenings and weekends as needed.
About Us:
Social Care & Education are seeking a confident and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a three-bed residential EBD home. You will lead and manage shifts, provide supervision and guidance to staff, and ensure the highest standards of care are delivered in line with Ofsted regulations and National Minimum Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide effective leadership to the staff team in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Support and develop staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensure that safeguarding and welfare of young people is central to all practice.
• Support with occupancy, quality assurance, and effective delivery of care plans.
• Monitor and manage resources efficiently, including rotas, supplies and budgeting input.
• Maintain positive relationships with professionals, families and the wider community.
• Contribute to inspections, audits and improvement planning.
• Participate in the on-call rota.
Essential Criteria:
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Team Leader, Deputy Manager or Registered Manager in a children’s residential care setting.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent Health & Social Care qualification including Children’s modules.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Eligible to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
• Strong understanding of Ofsted standards, safeguarding practices and child development.
• Experience in managing resources and contributing to service development.
• Experience in supporting inspections or audits.
