Defra Jobs

Defra is at the heart of the UK's efforts to protect and enhance the environment, support our world-leading food and farming industries, and sustain a thriving rural economy. Geospatial data and services are fundamental to achieving these goals, underpinning critical decisions and public-facing services.

We are seeking a Geospatial Service Analyst to help support and develop the technologies we use to make our data and information accessible to users. The role will have a primary focus on geospatial services but may include work in support of other data services.

You will provide support and administration to service owners and support ongoing service management through engagement with customers, colleagues, and suppliers. You will also be involved in documenting requirements, input into technical and strategic work and projects and supporting delivery and management of services working in collaboration with DDTS colleagues. Current services include the Data Services Platform, as well as internal services like our Earth Observation Data Service. The team includes service owners, analysts and data managers delivering key services to staff in Defra and beyond.

We are investing to improve our data services, particularly our geospatial, publishing and library services. The role will support Defra’s transformation of geospatial services and offers significant opportunity for helping to deliver key aspects of technical work in support of Defra’s modernisation.
