Deliver creative and therapeutic art lessons to students with SEMH needs aged 5-19 within a specialist setting.

A special school in Wandsworth supporting boys aged 5 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. All pupils have an EHCP and benefit from personalised, therapeutic support to enable learning and development. The school is committed to fostering resilience, independence, and respect in all learners, with a curriculum tailored to individual needs.
About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Art Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting pupils across KS1 to KS5 with complex SEMH needs. You will deliver engaging, therapeutic art sessions that support creative expression, emotional regulation, and individual progress.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Create a safe, structured, and inspiring learning environment
- Plan and deliver accessible and creative art lessons tailored to students' needs
- Use art as a therapeutic tool to help students express themselves and build confidence
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team including therapists and support staff
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- Specialism or strong background in Art education
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH or additional needs
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A creative, resilient, and compassionate approach
