Summary
Ensure that the needs of patients are placed at the center of care delivery, thus achieving trust and national standards for clinical quality, safety and patient experience. To participate in and manage caseload of diabetes patients with the support of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Lead nurse and specialty Consultants and specialist registrars. To run nurse led clinics independently with clinical guidance as needed for specialties Provide appropriate and timely education and advice to patients on all treatment options available. To act as a clinical expert role model in nursing care to other nurses with regards to Diabetes. To develop advanced nursing practice in diabetes whilst being aware of personal and professional limitations. To assist with cross cover of the Diabetes Specialist Nurses within own clinical competence.
