Summary

Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Manchester (Multiple school placements available)
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience

Randstad Education is recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) across primary, secondary, and specialist settings in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work one-to-one or in small groups, helping children build confidence, independence, and academic progress.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with children or young people (ideally in an SEN setting)

  • A calm, adaptable, and nurturing attitude

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with learning differences

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK and references from recent roles

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEN, including ASD, SLD, SEMH, and PMLD

  • Assist the teacher with planning and delivery of lessons

  • Encourage student engagement through positive reinforcement and inclusive strategies

  • Support personal care or mobility needs where required (training can be provided)

  • Promote a safe and supportive learning environment

  • Build meaningful relationships with pupils, families, and staff

Role Details:
  • Start Date: Ongoing and September 2025 starts available

  • Working Hours: Full-time and part-time roles available

  • Settings: Mainstream and specialist schools
