Summary
A Vacancy at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Qualified Clinical Psychologists or Trainee Clinical Psychologists due to qualify this year with an interest in clinical health psychology are invited to apply for this lifespan cleft lip and palate (0.6 WTE) and paediatric plastic surgery (0.3 WTE) role. You may have experience of working with physical health problems with either children/families or adults, or experience of working in child and adolescent or adult mental health services with a keen interest and desire to apply that knowledge to work in an acute trust.
You will be joining a growing clinical psychology lifespan service to children, young people and adults under the care of the Trent Regional Cleft Lip and Palate Service, in a highly welcoming multidisciplinary team of plastic surgeons, nurses, speech and language therapists, orthodontists and dentists. You will also provide psychological care to children and families under plastic surgery services within the Trust.
You will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology department, which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology and Child and Adult Neuropsychology.
1.Working closely with the multidisciplinary Cleft Lip and Palate team to offer psychological care to those born with a cleft lip and/or palate across the lifespan,and children and families under the care of plastic surgeons
2.Working with children and young people and their families, as well as adults, through consultation with staff, direct work and attending multidisciplinary clinics
3. Providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy/input, offering advice and consultation to the MDT, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures
4. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research
5. Providing clinical and professional supervision to trainees undertaking doctoral training, where appropriate
6. Undertaking service development, where required
7. Delivering informal and formal teaching and training as required to the MDT
