We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance and Performance Manager, with significant operational experience within the NHS and knowledge of the private patient and overseas field, to lead our team of invoicing and credit control staff within the Commercial Directorate. The Trust is committed to exploring and building commercial opportunities that will generate additional financial and non-financial value to support the delivery of NHS services and build on our key strengths in patient care, research, and education.

The post holder will provide operational financial management leadership to the private patient, overseas, international and injury cost recovery services financial teams with some support for the Commercial Directorate as a whole. The post holder will lead the effective budgeting, financial management and reporting, including the management of the financial systems in use to effectively manage this group of services. You will also lead projects and change initiatives across this broad range of complex activities to achieve challenging targets within agreed timescales

The post holder will be responsible for managing a team who invoicing and manage the finances of the private patients, overseas and international services. You will need to have operational finance experience and team management skills. You will also monitor the business performance and staff within the private patient, overseas, international and injury cost recovery services. You will be responsible for overseeing the detailed analysis and interpretation of all activities to continue the development and improvement of the services as part of the expansion and development of the private patient business.

The post holder will also act as a lead for developing business intelligence tools and provide advanced analytical skills to help us grow the business. You will also be responsible for preparing statutory reports and returns in accordance with agreed timescales.

Applicants will need significant NHS leadership experience related to operational finance (not just accountancy). You will have an excellent attention to detail and performance management with previous experience of line management, and a proven track record of financial process improvement and project management.
