A great opportunity to join the team at the Inland Border Facility.

YOUR ROLE

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational functionality and performance of the inspection operations from off-loading trailers to presentation for inspection and reloading trailers. Facilitating inspection requests on behalf of HM Border Force. Facilitate holding items in temporary storage by request of HMRC.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring the correct handling of all client products at all stages within the facility whilst remaining compliant with manual handling procedures.
  • Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested.
  • Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training.
  • Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives.
  • Maintain the inspection environment following training.
  • COSHH Awareness following training.
  • Champion a health and safety culture and safety reporting.
  • Supervise Inspection Operatives whilst conducting day to day tasks.
  • Assisting with the daily and weekly clean of operational area.
  • Ensuring all KPI's and SPI's are achieved.
  • Use of MHE such as PPTs and Forklift Trucks - following on site training provided.
  • Escalation of any operational incidents to Operations Manager/General Manager.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Logistics experience.
  • Strong warehouse system experience.
  • A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work.
  • Experience of working to agreed targets.
  • Intermediate PC Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading
  • Supervisory experience desirable.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines in an organised and informed manner.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve a high level of accuracy.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including covering holidays and absence when
    required.
