Learning Support Worker (Post-16, SEN, Social Care Background)
Location: Warrington
Hours: Full time - Monday - Friday
Salary: £92 - £100 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young people and adults with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with post-16 learners / have a strong background in social care? If so, we want to hear from you!
Who we are: The Education Network is a respected, independent, recruitment agency based in Warrington. We specialise in SEN settings and supply skilled support workers, teaching assistants, & teachers to local schools and education providers.
As such we are recruiting for a full time Learning Support Mentor to work with a local SEN college. The role is long term temporary post (with a scope to becoming permanent for the right candidate). The provision delivers dynamic, person-centred education and support services for young people and adults with special educational needs. Education programmes at the college are designed to empower learners to lead more independent, fulfilled lives focusing on Preparation for Work.
The Role: As a Learning Support Worker, you’ll provide tailored, high-quality support to young people and adults with a wide range of needs. You will assist learners in educational and community settings, help implement support strategies, and play a vital role in enabling them to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individuals aged 16+ with SEN across education and adult day service programmes.
Deliver one-to-one and small group support tailored to learners’ EHCPs or individual support plans.
Encourage independence in life skills, employment preparation, and social development.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, care teams, and external professionals.
Support with personal care and mobility needs where required.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner progress reviews and safeguarding procedures.
Desirable skills / background:
Experience supporting young adults with SEN.
A background in social care, education, or support services.
Understanding of EHCPs and working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or social/emotional needs.
A patient, proactive, and flexible approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Learning Support, or similar).
Experience within Supported Internships or day services.
Knowledge of person-centred planning and inclusive practice.
