About this opportunity

Join our Personalised Experiences and Communications Platform as a Senior DevOps Engineer. We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with a solid IT background and expert skills in DevOps Engineering to deliver top-quality DevOps Engineering capabilities, demonstrating your engineering expertise and cloud opportunities.

This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise and great passion for coaching and developing people in a "player-coach" model. In this role, you'll lead the design, implementation, and delivery of scalable, resilient, low-latency release and deployment pipelines for microservices on Public cloud. You'll also lead and participate in Engineering Guilds and Working Groups to actively promote the DevOps brand in LBG. You'll drive technical strategy and best practices, deliver technical solutions for multiple entities within the group, and foster a culture of secure, high-quality data pipelines. Additionally, you'll design and implement secure automation solutions for our Develop, test and production pipelines.

What will I be doing?

  • You'll be responsible for supporting the build the deployment processes for Microservices on Public cloud.

  • You'll focus on the DevOps elements of the software engineering role, helping us to deploy software regularly and smoothly while continuously improving and developing our processes.

  • You'll help us to learn and implement the best use of DevOps tools, like Jenkins, source control platforms such as GIT, plus how to containerise and maintain our infrastructure platform.

  • Involved in building DevOps pipelines and Release pipelines and maintaining It

  • Configuring tools that do automated test script

  • Design and implement secure Automation solutions for our Develop, test and production pipelines

  • Istio configurations and cluster setup in public cloud

What you'll need:

  • A software engineering or database engineering background that has a solid understanding of DevOps practices, processes and supporting tools

  • Strong Software Engineering and pipeline background preferably Java based

  • Proven experience and understanding of modern engineering practices

  • DevOps Tools (CI/CD tools like Istio, Jenkins, Sonar, Nexus, GIT, Docker Containers)

  • Passion for collaborating with other engineers and building a strong team culture

  • Kubernetes and Containerization with docker

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Network protocols & security

  • Application Servers: WAS & Liberty & Linux

  • Exposure to cloud technologies like Azure or especially GCP are highly desirable
