Summary

China, Development and Market Access is a new Directorate within DBT leading on a group of high priority areas including our trading relationship with China, DBT’s approach to development, our Market Access programme, how we support Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, and driving economic growth in other key geographies across Canada, Latin America & the Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe & Central Asia.

The Director’s Office leads the directorate’s approach to corporate management, whilst providing logistical and secretariat support to the Senior Leadership Team within the Directorate. The Corporate Support Manager will lead on supporting the SLT and wider directorate on corporate governance and business management functions, in addition to cross cutting commissions. You will be required to quickly build a large degree of influence, responsibility, and autonomy across a variety of senior staff within the Directorate and work closely with the head of the Director’s Office to ensure that optimal flow of information to and from teams is maintained.

The successful candidate will be organised, methodical, a good communicator both verbally and in writing, maintain accurate data and records in a fast-changing and busy environment, and take pride in providing a high-quality service to Seniors and stakeholders across the Directorate and beyond.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a broad range of corporate support and business management tasks to support the running of the Directorate. Take responsibility for clear and timely tasks, making clear asks, chasing and collating quality returns to requests for information or action.
  • Lead on the Directorate’s finance returns, ensuring that forecasting is accurate and aligned with allocated budgets. You will work with Finance and HR business partners effectively monitor spend report on spend and ensure appropriate internal control practices are undertaken.
  • Support teams across the Directorate with financial operations, including raising purchase orders and managing invoicing, and ensure good financial governance is in place.
  • Lead on the Directorate’s people data returns including keeping an up to date and accurate record of all filled positions and vacancies within the Directorate to enable accurate workforce planning.
  • Support the Head of Director’s Office on priorities to support the smooth running of the Directorate, including acting as secretariat to Governance boards as required, and leading on assurance processes.
