Summary
Duties of the Trust Doctor include preparing patients for theatre and attendance at operating sessions, out-patient clinics and pre assessment clinics. There is a firm based structure and required attendances at clinics and operating lists. There daily ward rounds and MDTs across the specialties. There is a Trust wide electronic system for patient management as well as ready access to PACS which is hugely helpful for managing the trauma workload. Full IT training is delivered. You are asked to take part in departmental audit and research. There is a supportive network to improve your portfolio if you wish to apply to Core Surgery and the Trust aims to help you deliver your goals for learning and development.
