Summary

To act as a clinical practitioner, demonstrating knowledge and skill beyond thatassociated with traditional nursing / Allied Health care professional (AHP) roles, including the integration of research evidence into practice through expert clinical reasoning and decision-making. To act as an acknowledged expert in the provision of patient management advice inrelation to Infection Prevention and Control. To utilise clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge in the managementof patients with highly complex presentations and to be clinically competent to utiliseexpert IPC skills in a variety of clinical settings. To participate in research and clinical audit for monitoring and prevention of healthcare associated infections. To co-develop, establish and implement guidelines and clinician led initiatives,particularly where precedents do not exist or require adaption to meet different clientgroups.
