Are you looking to make a real difference in a supportive and rewarding SEND environment?
We're working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in the B36 area of Birmingham, who are seeking a passionate and dependable SEND Teaching Assistant to join their resource base. You'll be working alongside a skilled lead practitioner, supporting up to six pupils with a range of special educational needs. Pupils are of mixed primary ages, and support is tailored to individual learning plans.
Your Role:
- Support pupils with varied SEND needs including communication, cognition and sensory needs.
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher in the room to deliver tailored interventions.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on engagement and progress.
- Foster a positive, nurturing learning space where pupils feel safe and supported.
- Help manage transitions and daily routines effectively.
What You'll Need:
- Experience supporting children with SEND, either in a school or care setting.
- A calm, flexible and patient approach.
- Confidence working across different age groups within a small setting.
- Familiarity with Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics and confidence delivering sessions or following RWI-led activities.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education.
