Summary

English and Maths Outreach Tutor (Afterschool) - Bromley

ABOUT THE ROLE

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced English and Maths Tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with young people in Bromley who are require additional support afterschool. This afterschool tutoring role is ideal for a qualified educator looking to deliver tailored, engaging sessions outside the traditional classroom setting.

As an Outreach Tutor, you will:
- Deliver bespoke English and/or Maths lessons to students aged 5-16.
- Support pupils with gaps in learning due to absence from school or other educational barriers.
- Help rebuild students' confidence and motivation.
- Offer structure, consistency, and a positive learning environment.

Many of the learners you will support have experienced disruption in their education. The ability to build rapport and make learning enjoyable and accessible is essential.

You'll receive ongoing support and regular check-ins from Prospero Teaching to ensure your pupils make meaningful progress.

POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Bromley and surrounding areas (in-person)
- Role: Afterschool English and/or Maths Tutor (Outreach)
- Type: Temporary contract
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Flexible - based on each student's needs
- Working Hours: Sessions typically run after school hours, with each session lasting 1-3 hours
- Rate of Pay: From £25 per hour

REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS), PGCE, or equivalent tutoring/teaching experience
- Minimum 6 months UK-based teaching or tutoring experience
- Ability to deliver personalised English and Maths support across Key Stages 2-4
- Up-to-date safeguarding training (training available if required)

ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
- Two child-related references from the last two years
