Summary

Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the care home. This role is ideal for experienced Team Leaders or Senior Carers who are ready to step up into a leadership role and take on greater responsibility.

The Deputy Manager will play a vital part in care delivery, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and maintaining a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home.

Provide guidance, support, and supervision to care staff.

Help manage rotas, team meetings, and training.

Take charge in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Promote a culture of empathy, respect, and professionalism.

Care Delivery
Ensure residents receive safe, personalised care in line with care plans and assessments.

Assist with reviewing and updating care documentation.

Support staff with clinical and care decisions.

Promote best practices in safeguarding and dignity.

Quality & Compliance
Assist with preparations for inspections (e.g., CQC, local authority).

Help maintain accurate records and support quality assurance processes.

Contribute to the implementation of policies and service improvements.

Resident & Family Engagement
Build strong, positive relationships with residents and their families.

Handle feedback and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Person Specification
Essential
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care.

Previous experience in a senior care, team leader, or supervisory role within a care setting.

Good understanding of CQC regulations and care standards.

Confident leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role.

Medication administration qualification.

Desirable
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards it).

Experience supporting audits or inspections.
