Summary


We are seeking to recruit an experienced professionally registered cancer nurse or allied health professional who can demonstrate a commitment to enhancing patient care through excellent education. An individual with energy, creativity, and expertise, to help our students develop as cancer professionals. We are seeking candidates who has expertise and experience in cancer and palliative care, who will play a prominent role in the development of future cancer healthcare professional through excellent education.

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to help drive forward the School’s strategic vision: to transform cancer care by inspiring, challenging, and developing the next generation of innovative health professionals through outstanding education.

As part of a dedicated team of experienced Lecturer Practitioners, you will collaborate closely with Programme and Module Leads to deliver high-quality teaching across our post-registration and postgraduate programmes particularly in the acute and SACT area of expertise. This includes bespoke short courses and study days, offered both in-person and via virtual learning platforms.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping student learning by leading, coordinating, and delivering validated modules. You will also have the opportunity to engage in clinical practice, contribute to scholarly activity, and participate in research—ensuring your teaching remains grounded in the latest evidence and best practice.

• Designing and delivering specific teaching sessions and study days both in the classroom and through e-learning using a range of appropriate teaching strategies to suit the level of learners, the setting, and the topic, including technology-enhanced and experiential learning, one-to-one coaching, large and small group teaching, seminars, and simulation of clinical situations.
• Participating in the development of teaching in the School, sharing and reflecting on ideas and experiences; mentoring colleagues; evaluating teaching activity and outcomes.
• Participating in Peer Review of teaching, receiving, and giving supportive feedback and advice to help sustain and enhance the quality of teaching in the School.
• Being involved in the evaluation of teaching and learning activities, ensuring that education and practice are linked.
