Summary

Working within the luxurious surroundings of our beautifully restored Taymouth Castle Estate and at the breathtaking Glenlyon Estate as well as the Moness Resort and Kenmore Village. As Facilities Maintenance Technician – Builder you will report to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. As part of this role you will be involved in carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, fault rectification, fault investigations, project-based work, and emergency call outs. Covering the extensive facilities across the Kenmore Village, Glen Lyon, and Taymouth Castle Estates.

This specialist role covers all areas and includes guest homes as required, staff housing, and all assets, buildings and infrastructure, grounds, pathways, and the roads throughout the estate. Facilities including Lighting, HVAC, Utilities, Fire, Access equipment, Company Vehicles,

Joining our team as Facilities Maintenance Assistant you ensure the safe and efficient operation of our local utilities and extensive facilities from guest housing to staff housing and all buildings and infrastructure. From lighting, HVAC, Water, fire, access equipment, plant vehicles, buildings, infrastructure and associated assets, grounds, pathways, and roads. Contributing to a comfortable and secure environment for guests and colleagues.

You support with the completion of all planned preventative maintenance, repairs, and fault investigations on time and to meet the expected high standards associated with the club and as directed by facilities and operations management including other departmental managers with logistical issues; where necessary and as directed, at various locations throughout the estate.

Carry out project work within a team-based environment, from planning stage through to completion. Responding to any emergency callouts throughout the club. You will monitor the correct operation and proper use of all the assets, equipment, and systems. Assisting the operational team, by coaching the correct and proper use of assets, equipment, and any systems as and when required.

Follow procedures for use of work orders, preventative maintenance, and SOPs. Maintaining documentation and any work order reports. Ensuring they are detailed with a full description of work carried out and supported with the aid of photographs.

Planning and coordinating shutdown and start-ups of utilities when required. Following technical drawings, or specifications or construction plans. Challenge SOPs as part of our continuous improvement. Conducting any site assessments and report on any issues or maintenance requirements.

Assisting he FM Management in maintaining, installing, and repairing roofing, masonry, flooring, drystone walling, drainage ditches and pipework, roads, and pathways. As well as general building tasks, bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, tiling and basic plumbing.

Preparing and setting out sites including digging foundations and building sub-structures. Any internal and external works in domestic and commercial properties. Work with trades and leading by example in maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Adhering to company Health and safety policies, risk assessments and environmental policies and procedures. Reporting to supervisors on progress / project timelines.

Maintaining work vehicles, conducting pre-use checks, and ensuring they are well maintained and kept clean and tidy. Other duties and special projects as and when assigned.

Proven experience in general building or construction work. Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship. NVQ in General Construction, Bricklaying, Carpentry, or a related Trade. Five plus years hands on experience. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously in-order to meet deadlines. Working effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results.

Knowledge of building regulations, specifically Scottish regulations, and site safety procedures. Ability to work from plans and technical drawings. Safe work practices and procedures (including Asbestos Awareness) and competent in use of tools and machinery.

Navigating mobile applications for reporting and recording tasks. Good written, verbal, and interpersonal and computer skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.

This role requires frequent bending, kneeling and the lifting and carrying of equipment and machinery weighing 23kg and greater throughout the facility to complete repairs maintenance, and can be on all floors in varying heights and distances and at various locations within the club both indoors and outdoors.
