As a leading leisure trust and Scottish charity, Edinburgh Leisure is passionate about transforming Edinburgh’s health and wellbeing through physical activity. Our mission is to reduce barriers, innovate delivery, and engage communities in staying active.

As one of the largest leisure employers in Scotland, we manage over 50 sports and leisure facilities across the city, enabling people to get active and stay active. As a charity, every penny goes into taking care of the health and well-being of Edinburgh.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Events and Individual Giving Fundraiser to join our dynamic team and help support the growth of our fundraising activities.

In this impactful and exciting role, you will:

- Assist the Head of Funding in creating and implementing a fundraising strategy to increase voluntary income through events and individual giving.

- Coordinate and manage external challenge event fundraising, including budgets, logistics, sponsorships, and communications to maximise impact and return on investment.

- Plan and execute internal fundraising events, managing schedules, resources, and staff engagement, ensuring participant safety through risk assessments.

- Support the development of individual giving, building long-term donor relationships through tailored communication and stewardship activities.

- Help raise awareness of Edinburgh Leisure’s work through case studies and impact stories to highlight our charitable purpose.

Our ideal candidate will have:

- A minimum of two years’ experience in events fundraising or organising events.

- Proven ability to meet or exceed income or engagement targets.

- Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, executing, and evaluating events.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

- High accuracy and attention to detail in communications.

- Strong organisational skills, able to multitask, prioritise, and solve problems under pressure.

- Desirable: Knowledge of the Third Sector in Edinburgh, fundraising regulations, and experience with mass participation sporting events or JustGiving platforms.

In return, we offer:

- Generous holiday allowance (32 days, rising with service up to 40 days)

- Company pension (with employee contributions matched up to 12%)

- Flexible working hours

- Paid sick leave

- Free membership across all our centres with access to fitness classes, gyms, and swimming pools

- Opportunities for training, career growth and development

- Cycle-to-work scheme

- Access to discounts with a huge number of retailers (saving money in cinemas, restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, on insurance and healthcare and much more).

This is a hybrid role with a mix of office-based work and the option to work from home where appropriate. You’ll regularly travel across Edinburgh to visit Edinburgh Leisure sites, meet with colleagues, funders, and partners, and attend events or training. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support scheduled events.

Closing date – 26th of June

Assessment date – 10th of July
