Summary

As Senior Counter Fraud Manager, you will provide leadership and be responsible for the performance of your geographically dispersed team of eight colleagues. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across enforcement to achieve national outcomes and ensure delivery of an effective, timely, business and customer focused counter fraud service, including fraud related investigations in accordance with plans and corporate objectives.

This role has specific responsibility for counter fraud (proactive and reactive), bribery and corruption, focusing on the agency’s internal controls and assurance capabilities, and internal Investigations. You will lead key elements of the annual action plan, Fraud Risk Assessments, proactive activity and collaborating with key partners.

You will lead on the development and performance management of your team, ensuring that they meet their potential and deliver a quality service whilst meeting business plan targets. You will use management tools such as Power Bi, workbooks, and team meetings to ensure continuous monitoring of team performance and undertake regular quality control activities. You will seek opportunities to improve ways of working and offer alternative options regarding policy implementation, where these are inefficient or burdensome.

In this role, your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and guidance to operational teams and project teams with counter fraud and integrity and effectively managing and controlling risk.
  • Providing technical advice to the Operations and Policy & Stakeholder Management Directorates concerning changes required to policies and operational procedures, considering the findings of investigations.
  • Working with the Head of Investigations & Counter Fraud to ensure compliance with the Cabinet Office Counter Fraud Functional Standards.
  • Leading the delivery of elements of the counter fraud proactive plan by conducting, liaising and influencing related projects undertaken by key internal and external partners, and conducting awareness activities as appropriate.
  • Taking a key role in continual development and enhancement of the in-house Counter Fraud function.
  • Managing relationships with all internal and external stakeholders in order to meet the expectations of the Head of Investigations & Counter Fraud and Directors.
  • Liaising with other Government Departments and Police Forces where their involvement in investigations is required, and to facilitate the effective flow of intelligence within the law enforcement community.
  • Line management responsibilities for a team of eight.
