Please refer to detailed Job Description attached Clinical: To undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse andcomplex presentations/multiple pathologies using advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to clinically diagnoseImplement evidence based treatment plans with regards to physical,cognitive, perceptual, psychological and social functioning Deliver and evaluate treatment programmes according to health care needsusing a comprehensive range of treatment options. To advise, assist and educate Band 6, Band 5 and Student OccupationalTherapists on the management of clinically complex patients To take part in board rounds and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings To carry out home assessments within the patients usual place of residence. Liaising with family, carers, multidisciplinary team to plan community support including equipment needed for discharge, packages of care and community therapy follow-up To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies external to the Trust, regarding social care and housing Management/leadership: To be responsible for the supervision of Band 6, Band 5, Students andTherapy Assistants within own team. To provide the Clinical Specialist/Managers with relevant information for the planning and development of the unit. To ensure where necessary the provision of staff cover within own clinicalteam in times of annual leave/sickness etc. To assist the Managers in achieving the departmental objectives andpromoting an open style of management. To participate in the professional development programme of the therapyDepartment. Co-ordinate the effective day to day running of own team and ensure effective dissemination of information. To participate in the recruitment and selection of therapy staff under theguidance of Therapy Manager. To comply with the Health & Safety Policies of the Trust including attendanceat Mandatory Training as specified by the Trust. To comply with and contribute to the development of departmentalprocedures and guidelines. To ensure that all accidents, incidents and hazards are dealt with effectivelyand reported accordingly to Trust requirements. To comply with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy standards andrules of professional conduct. To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patienttreatment records in line with Trust and Departmental Standards of Practice. To develop and undertake Clinical Audit This post will be subject to an enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
