Summary
A Vacancy at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic specialty doctor to work within our new community residential adult Rehabilitation unit (Penrose unit) within the London Borough of Lewisham. This is a new post which has been created due to recent funding within the SLP rehab pathway.
This community rehabilitation project will be provided jointly by SLPCC and Penrose (voluntary sector provider) and will be based in the London borough of Lewisham. It is based on a similar model operational in Lambeth (Turrets)
The job is currently being advertised as a 4 PA fixed term role for a period of 12 months.
If you are looking for a refreshing clinical role with excellent opportunities; incorporating quality improvement methodology to evaluate changes, then this is the ideal post for you.
For further details please refer to attached advertisement.
The main duties of the post holder are to provide psychiatry consultant leadership and to act as the main psychiatrist for the Penrose service.
Close liaison with other teams within the SLP pathway especially Heather close and ERT and our secondary and primary care teams will be a key part of the role. You will need to work closely with GPs and other stakeholders.
You will be expected to work ideally for two continuous days of the week to provide consistency and continuity of care. The service users at Penrose remain under the care of their existing community teams and so the RC responsibility will remain with the consultant psychiatrists in the respective CMHTs. This also means that in the days you are not at Penrose (the three days per week, as well as annual leave etc) you will not need to organise cross cover as there are existing cover arrangements in place.
