Workforce and Plant Department Administrator

Overview




Jones Bros. Ruthin (Civil Engineering) Co. Ltd. operates a large fleet of operated plant and directly employed plant operatives to
meet the resource demands of its civil engineering projects. The Workforce and Plant Department Administrator plays a key support
role within the Workforce and Group Plant Teams, assisting with the coordination and allocation of operated plant and operatives
to project sites across the business.

This is a developmental role that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience in both plant operations and
human resource planning within the context of civil engineering delivery. The role will report to the Workforce Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:




Resource Planning Support




* Assist with the upkeep and management of the Operated Plant – Operative Allocation spreadsheet, ensuring accurate and timely
input of project resource data.
* Liaise with the Workforce Coordinator to align plant and labour resource allocations to project requirements.
* Support the coordination of plant operators and equipment deployment based on information received from project teams.
* Support the Workforce Manager and Workforce Coordinator in the recruitment of plant operatives and groundworkers to meet the
requirements of the project delivery teams.



Administrative Duties




* Provide administrative support to the plant department, including preparation of documentation, filing, and records management.
* Assist with maintaining up-to-date holiday and availability records for plant operatives.
* Support other plant department administrators during periods of absence or annual leave to ensure continuity of service.



Collaboration and Communication




* Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders across projects and departments to support smooth delivery of
workforce and plant requirements.
* Liaise with site teams to clarify requirements and share updates as directed by the Workforce Coordinator.
* Participate in internal meetings and contribute to planning and scheduling discussions as appropriate.



Development and Learning




* Gain exposure to plant management systems, resource planning tools, and operational processes.
* Build knowledge of civil engineering site requirements, plant capabilities, and workforce deployment considerations.
* Undertake training and development as required to progress within the role and support career growth in operational or resource
planning functions.



What we are looking for:




* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving operational requirements.
