Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environment Enforcement Officer for the position LBS-007 to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our natural resources and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Your commitment to environmental protection and your ability to enforce compliance will directly contribute to the health of our communities and ecosystems. As an Environment Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and enforcing environmental legislation. This includes collaborating with local authorities, businesses, and community organizations to educate the public about environmental practices and conservation efforts. You will be required to gather evidence, prepare detailed reports, and, when necessary, take enforcement actions to address violations of environment-related statutes and regulations. Your role will also include participation in public outreach programs to raise awareness about environmental issues, and you will be instrumental in promoting sustainable practices. Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of facilities and sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Investigate complaints and reports of environmental violations in a timely manner.
Gather evidence and documentation related to suspected environmental violations.
Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on inspection findings.
Collaborate with local government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to promote environmental awareness.
Participate in public outreach programs to educate the community about environmental laws and sustainable practices.
Enforce compliance by issuing citations and penalties for violations when necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Law, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance or enforcement.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex situations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data.
Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
