An exciting new opportunity has arisen for one of the leading leading independent engineering and services businesses in the UK. They are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a solid Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing background who will have at least 10 years Quantity Surveying experience. The role will be based in Plymouth wihh the option of hybrid/remote working also. You will be working across a variety of sectors within the building and infrastructure industry and the companies innovative, responsible and forward-thinking approach allows them to work on fantastic ground-breaking projects, providing solutions using the latest tools and technologies. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will implement best commercial practices to maintain and maximise the profitability and financial performance of medium to large projects.
Expectations:
• Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, identifying and mitigating risks and enhancing opportunities
• Lead a team by example and liase with the Management team in a professional manner
• Where relevant, manage and coach any Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of the contract, liaise with the project teams on project status
• Identify, qualify and management the agreement process of any changes to contractual obligations
• Take responsibility for the cash flow forecasting, submission and receipt of payments
• Monitor and forecast costs and revenue through project lifecycle
• Assist with procurement and management of sub contractors
• Provide accurate reporting of costs, projections, contingency, liabilities, sales and margins
• Develop and maintain positive long term relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction
• Working alongside the project team and Commercial manager, negotiate the settlement of the final account and facilitate sign off
• Ensure all necessary records and reports are generated and maintained
• Assist in any dispute resolution process.
Requirements:
• Experience of responsibility for the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP projects
• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
• Relevant BSC/degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards
