Summary
The Clinical Administrator plays a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care through the delivery of efficient, accurate, and professional administrative services to the practice team. As part of the reception and administration team, you will provide a friendly and effective first point of contact for patients and visitors, while also supporting clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team with a range of administrative tasks. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication with both patients and colleagues. Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient and Reception Support Greet and direct patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Manage patient registration processes and maintain accurate records. Book, amend, and manage patient appointments, including coordinating clinics as required. Act as a central point of contact for patients, handling enquiries via telephone, email, and in person. Clinical Administration Process and manage clinical correspondence, including reports, referrals, and results. Handle child health recalls and liaise with patients, clinicians, and external services. Triage patient queries and ensure appropriate distribution to the clinical team. Support clinicians with a variety of administrative tasks to enable smooth and effective patient care. Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and ensure data quality and integrity at all times. Team and Practice Support Liaise effectively with internal team members and external partners (including secondary care and community services). Provide cover for reception and administrative colleagues during periods of absence (sickness/annual leave). Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by supporting the wider admin team as required.
