The Role

We are looking to appoint multiple highly organised Business Improvement Officers to support the Transformation Team in driving process efficiencies and technology-enabled change across the Council and its partners.

As a key role in the Transformation Team, the post holder will be experienced in business improvement, working across a variety of services and systems to support the team to maximise system utilisation and ensure efficient operating practises.

About You

The post holder must be adaptable and pick up new concepts quickly as the Improvement Team’s work programme may be in any service.

We support flexible working and will consider requests for part time or other flexible working arrangements.

Key activities will include:

  1. Support members of the improvement team in the design, development and implementation of systems and operating models along with other key stakeholders within defined timescales, budget and resource constraints. This includes the ability to scope, define and plan project objectives and benefits using the key project management tools.
  2. Prioritise a challenging workload of multiple elements.
  3. Support in the analysis of complex situations and key issues within service areas in order to identify improvement areas and deliver appropriate solutions which are efficient and effective. This includes the ability to undertake audits, process mapping, root cause analysis to gather, assimilate and interpret data (quantitative and qualitative)
  4. Support in the identification and management of risks and issues, escalating as required through standard processes.
  5. Influence change within teams of the organisation.
  6. Identify and propose changes to systems and processes to seek efficiency and financial returns.
  7. Support team members in the implementation of key corporate projects.
  8. Maintain and provide quality assurance for project documentation.
  9. Organisation of project meetings and providing secretariat support.
  10. Providing general administrative support as required depending on the need of the team.
