Summary
Key Responsibilities But Not Limited To: Undertake venepuncture for a wide range of routine and urgent blood tests, ensuring safe and hygienic technique Label, package, and send samples to the laboratory in accordance with current protocols Ensure patient identification checks and consent are carried out in line with policy Maintain accurate documentation and update electronic patient records on EMIS Manage appointments and prioritise urgent samples as directed by clinical staff Observe and report any unusual symptoms or reactions during or after procedures Ensure all equipment is clean, well-stocked, and maintained according to infection control standards Provide reassurance and support to patients who are nervous or anxious about blood tests Adhere to health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding protocols at all times Participate in practice meetings, audits, and mandatory training as required
