Are you passionate about helping students achieve their career goals? Sandwell College Group is seeking a dedicated Careers Officer to provide high-quality guidance, support and resources to students across all our campuses.
This is a permanent role with flexible working options: you can choose to work term time only 37 hours a week 40 weeks a year (during academic terms with College holidays off slightly different to Schools we break up 1st week July and return for GCSE results at the end of August ), or part time, working 22.6 hours per week throughout the year. You will play a key role in helping students explore their potential, build employability skills and plan career pathways that align with their individual ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Careers Officer, your role will involve traveling between campuses to deliver personalised advice, conduct workshops, and foster strong connections with industry partners. Your contributions will play a vital part in enhancing our students' career prospects and ensuring they are well-prepared for the next steps in their education or professional lives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The role requires experience in delivering one-on-one advice and guidance to a diverse range of students in an educational setting, along with a background in providing Careers Education Guidance (CEG) to both small and large groups. Additionally, experience working with young people with additional needs is essential. A Level 6 qualification in Advice and Guidance or working towards.
Due to the nature of this role, we need someone who is willing and able to travel between our different campuses across the West Midlands.
