The post holder must demonstrate knowledge of current issues related to bands 2-4 education delivery. It is essential to have the ability to support the co-ordination of relevant educational issues and represent those views both internally and externally asrequired.

Keyelementsof theroleareto:
• Plan, develop, facilitate and evaluate the training, educational and developmental programmes, ensuring aims and objectives meet the relevant aspects of the appropriate standards and national priorities for the bands 2-4 nursing and midwifery workforce
• Support the recruitment and retention of Healthcare Assistants to ApprenticeshipprogrammesincludingLevel 2HCSWApprenticeship,Student Nursing Associate Apprentice (SNA) and Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA) programmes
• Facilitatethetraininganddevelopmentof PracticeSupervisors/Practice Assessors to enable them to support SNAs and RNDAs throughout the training programme
• Workclinicallywith apprenticesincludingSNAsandRNDAstoprovide support and facilitation
• Evaluatetheprogrammesof learningforbands 2-4 staff group including clinicalapprenticeshipsandprovidewrittenreports
• Keepuptodatewithbestpracticeinnursing, midwifery andclinicalcare
• Practiceinaccordancewithexisting standards/policiesandstatutoryrequirements
• Toprovideon-goingsupportandpreceptorshipforRegisteredNursingAssociates
• To manage the creation and delivery of in-house and external educational offerings to support the education and career progression of bands 2-4 nursing and midwifery staff

• To coordinatetheprovisionofhighqualityprogrammes thatsupport thebands2- 4 nursing and midwifery workforce
• Toworkinpartnershipwiththepostregistrationnurseeducationteamto provide N&M induction for the nursing and midwifery staff group
• Tolead andsupporttheeducationpractitioners(healthcare)todelivertheCare Certificate Programme
• To work with key stakeholders to deliver and evaluate apprenticeship programmes including organisingandfacilitatingsessions,anddevelopingthosewhoareenrolledon the training and educational programmes
• Actas aneducationexpertforapprenticeshipprogrammesduring theirtrainingperiod
• Provide expert guidance to Practice Supervisors/ Practice Assessors/educatorsindecisionsrelatingtoapprentice’scompetenceandfitnessforpractice
• Develop co-ordinate and deliver and evaluate structured teaching programmes in conjunction with partner Higher Education Institutions
• Createandmaintainasupportnetworkforbands 2-4 staff group including clinical apprentices
• CoordinateeducationanddevelopmentprogrammesthatsupportSNAsand RNDAs to meet NMC registration requirements
• MaintainadatabaseofSNAsandtheirPracticeSupervisors/PracticeAssessors for the Trust
• ProvidetrainingandsupportforPracticeSupervisors/PracticeAssessors/managerswhoaresupportingSNAsandRNDAs.
• Monitor and evaluate programmes for bands 2-4 staff group including clinical apprentices and utilise feedback to develop support strategies
• Identify and plan current and future needs for HCAs education and career progression working in partnership with all stakeholders
• MaintainadatabaseofHCAsthatexpressinterestorareundertakingfunctionalskills
• Work with key stakeholders and HEIs in responding to the changing needs of recruitment and retention of SNAs/RNDAs.
• Manage hub and spoke placement enquiries and complaints from Practice Supervisors/ Practice Assessors, managers and HEI relating to behaviour, conduct, competency, health and safety issues, offering advice, support and decision-making referrals to others where necessary
• Support and provide expert guidance to managers/ Practice Supervisors/ Practice Assessors / educators to provide feedback on performance and failing trainees
• Contribute to clinical skills training programmes for bands 2-4 nursing and midwifery staff to expand and update their clinical skills e.g. Venepuncture, cannulation and ECG
• Plan and coordinate inter-professional learning opportunities in practice for all bands 2-4 learners
• Collaborate with other roles / post holders who support students / learners from other professions to develop inter-professional learning
