Head Greenkeeper (Golf Supervisor)
Salary – £28,659 (£15.42 per hour)
Full-time, 35.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Temporary - 6-month contract.
Location – Braid Hills Golf Course
Are you a passionate greenkeeper who loves working on golf courses?
Do you have the skills to lead a greenkeeping team as a supervisor and keep our golf courses in top condition?
We’re looking for a Golf Supervisor (Head Greenkeeper) to guide our greenkeeping team, maintain our golf courses, and ensure every golfer has a fantastic experience.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with the greenkeeper team to look after the golf course and grounds, keeping them in excellent condition for players.
- Planning daily, weekly, and monthly greenkeeping tasks, adjusting for weather or other issues.
- Leading, mentoring, and motivating the team, managing training, development, and performance.
- Making sure every golfer feels welcome and enjoys their time on the golf course.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, risk assessments, security regulations and protocols.
- Managing tools, machinery, and supplies, and reporting any equipment issues and suggesting upgrades to improve golf course operations.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- HND/HNC in greenkeeping or SVQ Level 3 in sports turf maintenance.
- At least 5 years working as a greenkeeper on a golf course.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Knowledge of turf care, plants, pests, and chemicals used in greenkeeping.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with a varied customer base.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously.
