Summary

Job Summary – The University of Exeter are recruiting a Performance Analyst (Women’s Rugby), this is an opportunity to work as part of our team of support service providers with our Performance Sport Programme. Specifically this role will be providing performance analysis support to our Rugby Union programme. This will involve working closely with our head coaches, lead performance analyst and Sports Services Manager. This role will be part of a multi-disciplinary performance sport team that supports our student athletes. This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and is for 29.2 hours a week from August 2025 to July 2027. About You – You should be a graduate who has achieved or is about to achieve a full undergraduate degree in performance analysis, sport science or a related discipline. You should be confident using camera equipment to film games to a high standard, including the independent set up and use of an AP Capture camera, and a tight and wide camera rig, has a basic understanding of scripting and producing output windows based on timelines, playlists and organisers, and a basic understanding of excel functions, formulas and commands for producing reports and dashboard. You should have knowledge and experience of using Sportscode Elite, Pro and Hudl, have a high level of IT skills and use of Apple MacOS, and have competence in presentation skills using a variety of methods (video, graphs, statistical matrices). You must be competent in completing team and individual coding processes, undertaking live and post match coding, setting up and utilising a live capture as well as uploading footage to Hudl for coaches and performance athletes. You should have strong motivation to work in performance sport environment with student athletes, have the ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team and build relationships with performance athletes, coaches and support staff, have effective communication skills using email, phone and face to face with performance athletes, coaches, support staff and NGB staff as appropriate, and be organised and able to work to tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. You should have prior experience in volunteering, work experience, shadowing or paid work in a Higher Education Performance Sport environment and within a professional/premiership rugby club environment, have demonstratable experience of working in Performance Analysis in Rugby Union. This should include extensive knowledge of the skills, tactics and gameplay of high level Rugby Union.
