Summary
This role is to lead the surgical pharmacy team to deliver high quality patient centred care to peri and post-operative patients across the Royal Free London NHS Trust
To lead, strategically develop and deliver a consistently high-quality clinical pharmacy service to surgical patients across all sites of the Royal Free London NHS Trust through the participation in multidisciplinary ward rounds and team meetings. The postholder will develop initiatives and guidelines to ensure the safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines within the specialist area to optimise clinical outcomes and minimise adverse reactions and errors. Therefore, leading on risk management issues related to medicines within the directorate and undertaking clinical audit to continually improve the quality of the service provided
The postholder will also develop the role of the Preoperative Assessment (POA) pharmacist and lead on the provision of pharmacy services to the Preassessment/POA Clinical Team.
