Summary
About The Role
We have the perfect opportunity for a Catering Assistant ready to help our front of house team at WWT London Wetland Centre, a small visitor attraction, which welcomes 130,000 visitors each year. With great rates of pay, no split shifts, occasional evening working, our team are ready to welcome you to the pond.
You will provide a warm and informative welcome to all our visitors and inspiring them to get closer to nature by providing exceptional customer service. You will be taking orders and payments, making lots of coffee, serving our seasonal menu and clearing tables while engaging with our visitors and giving them an amazing experience.
Our Catering Assistant duties include:
Working in front and back of house to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of our catering offer
Maintaining safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food safety regulations
Able to work on your own and as a part of the team
Making sure our visitors will receive welcoming and warm service providing them with unforgettable experience
Assisting with product presentation
Cashing up tills at the end of the day
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract until 30th September 2025, working 15 hours per week, 2 days from 7, including weekend and bank holiday working.

About You
To join the Catering team you will:
have excellent communication skills – able to interact confidently and clearly with customers and team members
be adaptable and flexible – comfortable adjusting to different tasks and working conditions throughout the day
be a Team player – able to work effectively as part of a busy, fast-paced team
have the ability to multitask – able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently under pressure
be self-motivated and proactive
be versatile in work areas – comfortable working both front of house (serving customers, taking orders) and in the kitchen (preparing food, maintaining hygiene)
Whilst previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, as we'll provide you with all the necessary training to set you up for success in your role.
