The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced US / UK Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing team in Mayfair. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a high-profile client base, providing bespoke tax advisory and compliance services to US-connected individuals. You'll work closely with the Tax Director and wider team, taking ownership of a portfolio and supporting both clients and junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver US and UK personal tax advisory and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals and expatriates
• Manage your portfolio’s financials, including WIP, billing and cash collection
• Attend new business meetings, assist in proposals, and prepare follow-up communications
• Monitor job progress and workflow, ensuring jobs are delivered within budget and deadlines
• Draft bills and manage productivity targets
• Coach and support junior team members, providing technical guidance and contributing to their development
• Supervise junior staff on information gathering and return preparation
• Stay current on relevant legislation, technology and industry developments
• Participate in internal and external training
What We’re Looking For
• At least 5 seasons’ experience in US and UK personal tax compliance
• Proven experience in reviewing and signing US and UK tax returns
• Strong knowledge of both tax regimes and how they interact
• Previous experience supervising or coaching junior staff
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated approach to client service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced IT skills; experience using CCH ProSystem, UK tax software and Virtual Cabinet
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management
• EA and/or ATT qualified
• Experience with corporates and trusts advantageous but not essential
• Discreet and professional when handling sensitive client information
