Summary
PS Ltd are looking for skilled and experienced Production / Yard Operatives with a valid FLT licence to join a reputable client in Bristol (Wick). This full-time role involves handling large concrete sleepers, so confidence, precision, and safety awareness are essential.
Production Operatives must have previous experience working with precast and concrete moulds.
Yard Operatives must be comfortable operating 5-ton and 8-ton forklifts (Hold a B2 Licence), and have experience working in a yard environment where careful handling of heavy, awkward loads is key.
Production Operative Responsibilities:
Mixing concrete
Pouring concrete
Cleaning moulds
Reading technical drawings
Quality control
General labouring duties
Yard Operative Responsibilities:
Safely operate FLT Counterbalance trucks (5t & 8t) to transport large concrete sleepers
Read and follow technical drawings to assist with stock placement and planning
Carefully balance and move heavy sleepers with precision and care
Carry out stock control, counting, and general inventory tasks
Assist with general operative work and yard duties as required
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area
Support supervisors with day-to-day tasks where needed
Candidate Criteria:
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
Hold a current, accredited FLT Counterbalance Licence (essential)
Experience operating 5-ton and 8-ton forklifts
Concrete casting experience
Able to read and interpret technical drawings
High level of attention to detail and safety awareness
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Previous experience handling large/heavy items is essential
Hours: - Monday to Friday 06:00am to 16:00pm
Production Operative pay rate: £12.42 per hour (overtime available)
Yard Operative pay rate: £12.73 per hour (overtime available)
